Mid Hudson Buffet in Kingston

Typical fast pace environment, clean and the food well you know. Raw food cooked to order at the sushi bar. Eat a plate of buffet and bring your raw food to the sushi bar, it will be done before you finish your first plate.

For a quick lunch, this place is great. There is a great variety of food! You can get everything from sushi to baked macaroni and cheese to Chinese dumplings; soups, desserts; meat, tofu, etc. It is all buffet-style, and the time in and out is very quick. Prices are reasonable. The only reason for 3 stars is that it's not a place you go for atmosphere, and buffets are always risky since every customer touches the utensils used for service ... germ risk. But the food is replenished quickly and it is tasty.

Food is usually good. Staff is great but can sometimes seem a bit impatient. They are typically very busy with many customers so the feeling of being rushed can be due to the atmosphere. I usually make it to this buffet a couple times a year and not much ever changes!

I used to go there twice per month when I lived there. And since I left 8 years ago, I still visit the buffet at least twice per year. I've been to countless buffets, and this one is consistently above board with the selection and quality of food. Very comfortable dining. And I never felt rushed. Please bring back the peach cobbler, or baked apple dessert.

Snow crab has been removed from the buffet. The remaining food is average at best. No real reason to come here anymore.

Not fantastic, but always consistent. It is what I expect from a buffet. The food Is decent to good, occasionally really good (sometimes the fried calamari when it first comes out) and the price is right. Sadly, the dining room could use a bit of freshening up and tlc.

The kids love it. I can't go into the bathroom without gagging from the smell. Everything else "seems" clean enough. The food is decent.

Nice place. Large variety of food. Owners are nice. I've been going there for a long time. Never any problems. Lunch prices are way cheaper. Nice place for family outings.

I dissagree it is not a 4.2 star it should be a 4.6 star it is really good and the service is great they come almost every 5 minutes and ask if its good if you need refills and I love the food

I get to eat here a lot since I work close by. I got to say the service is always excellent and they keep the place well organized consistently. Prices are fair and they serve big portions.

I come to this marvelous restaurant often as I love the ambiance that is exist in this restaurant. The staff is very loyal and qualified. The service is extremely efficient. Needless to say, the food you get is perfect. I have been there more than once and I was never disappointed. The payment is reasobable. I recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Really nice place and good food!

The prices are good, however the food did not taste really good. Years ago this place was much better. The walnut chicken was semi pink on the inside, the sushi tastes terrible. After leaving we all had food poisoning. My mother also noted how the food was very cold like ice, and the egg rolls tasted old. Never again.

A lot of food probably all very good but not for my diabetes diet

I have been going here for quite some time and I will keep coming back. I would like to see better desserts but they do such a good job with the rest who cares. I like to start at one end and work all the way to the end. Always trying something different. I have my favorites I look for when I am there. Most people I recommend the Mid Hudson Buffet to are glad I told them.

Travelled all over the country for a good buffet, born and raised in Kingston and thoroughly will always keep as my favorite Chinese buffet. Mongolian bbq, walnut chicken and soft serve ice cream. Friendly and supportive long term staff always making an amazing experience.

Can't beat it for the price and the amount of food. All the personal were friendly and considerate. The food wasn't the greatest but was okay.

I am not a huge meat eater and don't do sushi. So I felt as there wasn't enough variety alot of meat products..

This restaurant is the one I always prefer. I eat in plenty of restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very attentive and the cooking they place on your table is so delicious. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

We love this restaurant. Great selection of food, oriental, hibachi, sushi, American selections, salads...all you can eat. Prices are very reasonable. Would recommend.

Food quality has gone down and the service was awful i used to go there all the time but not so much anymore. It just keeps getting worse.

Charge 12.99 for crab legs crazy... last time I will ever go there

Awesome buffet good food great service

I don't like giving bad reviews but I would not return here if they paid me to. Staff had an attitude from the moment we arrived which made me want to take the family and make them drive 45 minutes to the Newburgh flaming grill buffet. If the poor first impression wasn't bad enough all of the food was either old, raw, or burnt. Only edible things there were the bread rolls and vegetables. Was sick within half an hour of leaving and I most definitely will not return here ever again.

Their food is hot and fresh, and they keep on top of keeping it restocked. They supply you with gloves and hand sanitizer, and constantly wipe down the surfaces.

I arrive at this unique restaurant every couple of days as I enjoy the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The team is extremely attentive and qualified. The service is very fast. Needless to say, the food they prepare is good. I visited more than once and I was never disappointed. The payment is reasobable. I highly recommend this place to to everybody.

This place went downhill once they expanded. Cost went up and product went down. No crab legs unless you want to pay extra for them? why would I pay for crab that is not be moved on a regular basis? how old is it or freezer burnt? no thank you !

It's the best buffet in the area, I've been known to take the 1 1/2 drive just to go there.

The restaurant is first-rate and spacious, the menu was delightful and the prices were very fair. fast, efficient service and very amiable staff members. I recommend this place.

Price for 2 adults all you can eat dinner buffet & a tip for the waitress $30. Meats, sides, salads, & desserts are all great tasting. Interior was beautiful looking & clean including the bathroom. Employees were constantly working & did very little talking amongst themselves on the contrary made sure customers had what was needed & if needing anything took care of it right away. Mid Hudson Buffet may not look good from the outside but it's mouth dropping beautiful on the inside. I'm pretty sure I will be going back again.

Food was brutal absolutely no flavor! Gentleman greeting us was very nice though.

Large variety of Asian dishes including a Mongolian bar with a great selection of fixings. A salad bar & American dishes are also available. Clams, oysters & crab legs as well as a carving station are included in the dinner menu (raw clams are decent except you need to pay attention to lots of bits of broken shells which could break a tooth). New interior with expanded seating but found it disturbing they block the fire exit in the new section just to add another table. Coupons readily available in weekly mailers.

Awesome place to eat. Wide variety of food and they have the BEST Walnut chicken! No one else makes it.
